Spring bulbs provide us with our first taste of beauty and color after a long winter of planning and anticipation.
Spring bulbs are best planted in bunches so they look like bouquets when in bloom. One way to do this is to plant in circles or squares and then put some bulbs in the middle. This gives a full lush look that is much more pleasing than bulbs planted single file in straight rows. And by planting both early and late blooming varieties, the blooming season is extended.
The best way to ensure a good ending is to have a good start. Choose bulbs that feel firm and heavy for their size. Avoid those that are shriveled or soft.
